Objectives
Series Objectives
The State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies has determined that there is a knowledge gap around addiction treatment, and have therefore made it a requirement for prescribers to have additional hours of education on this topic in order to be eligible for re-licensure.
Event Objectives
At the end of this activity, the learner will be able to articulate what the Contingency Management model for treating stimulant and other substance use disorders is, as well as be able to summarize the effectiveness of treatment, incentive options, outcomes for diverse populations, and the cost-benefit analysis of the model.
Analyze barriers to implementing Contingency Management; including restrictions on the use of federal funds, logistics, inducement, and stigma.
Compare and contrast findings from interviews with Colorado behavioral health providers and other stakeholders on the gaps and needs which should be addressed to implement contingency management across Colorado, along with a summary of potential funding sources to enable the creation of more programs.
